3 months

Daryn is 3 months today! At her doctor's appointment this morning, she weighed 8 lbs 7 oz, but that was with a wet diaper on. Not sure how much weight that adds... She took her shots like a champ and only cried for about 10 seconds, then conked out, even though it was time to eat.

The past few weeks have been kind of a struggle for her. She just doesn't have much of an appetite, and that combined with a constant stuffy nose makes feedings difficult, which makes sleeping not so good. We are trying hard to get her on a good schedule, but most days are hit or miss. She makes up for it with her sweet smiles and coos. She is pretty happy and I think she will start to laugh soon. She is so snuggly and sweet that I don't even mid when she wakes up early from every nap :).

City Creek Siblings

Before Sharon and Andrew had to head back to Texas last week, we had one last get-together with them and Stuart and Genevieve. So nice to be able to spend time with siblings that I usually never see! The kids had a blast checking out the mall in Salt Lake, fueled onward by the sugary goodness of ring pops- Reagan's first and she saw it all the way through to the end!

The Disney store was by far the favorite, and each of the older girls came away with a princess set. Lucky!

 After a quick snack at Kneaders, we headed over to Temple Square.

Reagan thought the air vent blowing up her dress was hilarious.

 

And I thought her pushing the stroller so fast and so close to the ground that she fell repeatedly was hilarious. I tried to teach her a better way, but she would have none of that.

 After Temple Square we met up with Lance for a yummy dinner at Johnny Rockets- never been there before but I give it a thumbs up! What a great way to wrap up a summer full of family. Daryn was wiped out by all the visiting!

 Luckily she recuperated in time to be at her very best for church :). Clown feet and all.

Daryn's blessing

Lance gave Daryn her baby blessing at church today, and we were lucky enough to have lots of friends and family there to help us celebrate our incredible daughter. She was a prefect angel the whole time- didn't make a single peep during the entire Sacrament meeting, even though she was awake for most of it. Lance gave a beautiful blessing, promising Daryn many different things in her life, including that her body would be made sound.

 She finally fell asleep near the end, but remained reverent, until...

 This bonnet came with the dress, and I wasn't a huge fan, but still gave it a shot. Turns out, pretty cute!

Family reunion

My dad's side of the family had a reunion this week out by Strawberry reservoir. Although we weren't quite up to staying there overnight, we were able to drive there Thursday and Friday afternoons and leave later on. It made for some late nights, but it was totally worth it. Tons of cousin play/bonding  time!

 It got pretty chilly in the evening and rained off and on.

Daryn slept a lot, but was a good sport and helped hold her own binky in. 

 Reagan of course found something to climb on and something to hit.

 Eve did great too, and then the girls waited patiently for the bigger kids to break open the pinata to see what was inside!

 There were lots of tickle fights, and more movie time.

And of course, I don't have any pictures of the biggest adventure of all. There was a riving running through the campground that was perfect for tubing, although pretty cold. We were determined to go at least once, but by the time we got up there, got the girls fed and taken care of, got ready, and waited our turn for tubes, it was fairly late in the afternoon and very thunderstorm-y. Nevertheless, Eric, Sharon, Eve, Lance, Reagan and I pressed on. Probably not the smartest idea... It was not too bad at first- just cold, until it started pouring halfway down the river. Reagan was on my lap, and she handled it pretty well. Eve, on the other hand, was not pleased. She screamed and cried for her dad all the way. By the time we got to the end point, we were completely drenched and freezing. We booked it back to the lodge and our towels and dry clothes as fast as we could!

Saturday, after the reunion ended, Lance's parents were kind enough to invite my whole family to their motor home that was parked in Park City for a delicious meal. It was so fun to be together their with everyone, eat some yummy food, go swimming, and celebrate Sharon's birthday. Mumsy was there with them and was thrilled to pieces to meet her newest great-granddaughter. It was also exciting because Daryn got her harness for her hips taken off at her doctor's appointment Friday morning, so she was basking in her new freedom!

 Reagan was chillaxing- 3 days of short naps were starting to take their toll. By the time we got home Saturday evening, we were all exhausted. Too bad there was still lots to do! Cleaning and cooking for all our company that was coming the next day for Daryn's blessing!

Newborn and 2 year pics

One of my good friends in the ward took these pictures over a month ago. I haven't posted them yet because we were waiting to surprise our parents with framed prints this weekend. But here are some of my favorites. Tami did such a great job!!
