The Terrific Brunson Team: 2022

I'm losing my enthusiasm for April Fools Day. Fortunately (unfortunately?) the kids are picking up my slack.

This was the best I could muster this year. There's a trail of water coming out of the washer! Lance didn't even fall for it. He's onto me.

Reagan and Daryn played all sorts of mostly harmless pranks (the milk's gone bad!) and there were many pop-its and pieces of bubble wrap hidden under the rugs. They got me good with a couple under the toilet seat when I sat down.

Daryn also had crazy hair day!

General Conference weekend! The kids were very excited to use their new activity books from Activity Days and help build our new puzzle.

Dixie's focus was elsewhere but I was so impressed by this tower! I think she added another 2-3 before it fell.

On Monday we took off for Vegas (see that separate post).

When we got home it was laundry, laundry, laundry. Dixie loves a fresh clean warm blankey.

We took a trip to Temple Square before they close more of it for construction.

I started taking Dixie to story time. She's unsure about the whole thing but she tolerates it.

When you ask Blade and Maddie to unload the dishwasher but they can't reach the cabinets...

Reagan's class made sourdough starter at school and each got to bring some home and she has been making the MOST amazing bread for the past few weeks.

All on her own and it is seriously so good.

This girl is SUCH a stinker with her carseat. She would take her arms out constantly. And do this when I would yell at her to put them back in while I was driving.

I finally found a way to keep her from pushing the buckles down with a giant safety pin. Much better!

These little sleeping moments more than make up for the hard times.

She was very pleased with this ladder swing Maddie made for her.

I don't remember the context of this except I think it was bedtime and I found them like this.

Ice skating with the youth. Well, watching them skate. Kind of.

Actually being helpful for once in her life.

She asked me to wash blankey and then was very mournful about it.

Lance's maternal grandmother passed away on Easter and he was able to travel to Texas for her funeral. We missed being there with him but we're so glad he could go and see friends and family.

Sadly, he had to miss the girls' piano recital. Happily, he had Blade to step in and get the girls flowers!

Dixie wore a dress that Mumsy gave Reagan to honor her.

Don't be fooled by this face; she did not behave. Unless you count her yelling "I lub you ______ !!!" (Fill in the blank with whichever sister was playing at the moment) repeatedly while I was trying to video the songs for Lance as behaving.

They all did a great job though! I was especially proud of Reagan who practiced with our family over and over again because she gets really nervous playing in front of people. She nailed it!

That evening I took Blade and Maddie to see one of my young women in The Little Mermaid at the jr high. It was so well done.

The next day, I did Maddie's birthday party with her kindergarten class at gymnastics (see her birthday post) and then took Daryn to see another young woman in Bye Bye Birdie at the other jr high (not pictured). (Also not pictured: sometime in the last few weeks I took Reagan to see Romeo and Juliet at the high school that also had a couple of my young women in it. She didn't get left out and I'm so proud to be the leader of such talented girls!). It was an exhausting couple of days and I was so glad when Lance got home late late on Saturday night.

Oh while Lance was gone we also got another bird. A fun surprise for him! I was persuaded by Maddie's schoolwork. Welcome, Pineapple. So far, she's still alive.

This girl is the sweetest! She loves driving her animals around in their new bike seat.

And surprise! I guess Blade is a bike rider now. He was very motivated.

He's starting to get the hang of it but has a ways to go.

I finally got the lawn mowed and Dixie showed her appreciation by curling up and trying to take a nap in the sun. I can't blame her, looks pretty inviting.

She's started throwing little tantrums when she doesn't get her way. She sobs heartbroken into her little hands but I catch her peeking though sometimes to see if I am watching.

This girl is going to be the one that finally gives me gray hairs. She got into her tub of aquaphor during naptime one day and covered herself head to toe (and got a good amount on the clean diapers and carpet). I wiped her down as best I could quickly. Lance washed her hair twice that night and it still looked like this.

The next two days she got into the fruit and ate almost an entire container of strawberries and then 5 bananas (apparently she can peel them. And Maddie won't even notice.) She's been having some great poops...
