Before we can go back to school, we need back to school haircuts! Luckily, the new kids' salon in town, Cookie Cutters, opened the day before Reagan started. We made an appointment ASAP. It was a cute little place!
I forgot to get a before picture of Reagan (of course) but here is during and after. She had 4-5 inches cut off.
Daryn before.
During
And after. She had about 4 inches off, too.
Now we were all ready! Reagan started 2nd grade a few days before Daryn, so we got to spread out the fun!
A succesful first day for the books.
Burning off some extra energy after school.
Friday night we went to Touch-a-Truck at Layton FEST.
And Saturday, we spent most of the day at the Davis County Fair.
The princess show was a big hit. I'm sorry, but how adorable are those little bums?
Then the girls got to meet a real, live unicorn!
And pony rides.
And a petting zoo! The tortoises are nice because they don't run away...
The girls chose an elephant ride instead of carnival rides, and we all loved it! (I got to go for free with Maddie)
We stopped by the watermelon eating contest right after (it was actually a race to see who could finish a slice the fastest) and we had missed Reagan's age group so she went up again 8 or so boys ages 9-15 I think? Anyway, she took first place.
That's my girl!
The kids had to take a break in the coloring/water tent when things got a little hot.
Daryn really loved this pirate play ship.
And we all loved the Greatest Showman acrobats and the sea lion show! When we left, we were exhausted but happy.
On Monday, Daryn got to start kindergarten! She's been very excited and a little nervous.
She was very excited to bring in her bear that she made after Back to School Night.
It's Reagan's job to pick Daryn up from class and walk out to the car. They are so adorable! (And yes, they've been dressing matchy every day so far- they choose their uniforms out together the night before.)
How have the other kids been handling the older ones being gone? Maddie's been a bit of a grump about it.
But she's slowing adjusting.
Blade has just been his normal angelic self.
And I've been busy harvesting, cooking, and giving away as much zucchini as possible.
We're all ready for a happy, productive year!
