The world's most adorable boy is officially a terrifying two year old. It turns out 2 year old boys are a little more difficult than 2 year old girls (previously my favorite age). He mostly makes up for it in cuteness.
He stays busy playing dress up,
sitting in on Maddie's gymnastics class,
and spending lots of time laughing with her,
occasionally sitting down to watch tv,
and making lots and lots of messes.
Balloons first thing on his birthday!
Star french toast and crazy bedhead for breakfast.
He enjoyed "driving" around his bus balloon all day.
All ready to celebrate!
Reagan made the bottom banner at school for Blade- it says "Blade #2".
Look at the kid go!
The bowtie was a big hit- he loves them.
New train books and a lego duplo train set! He's obsessed.
The first of many, many readings since then.
Time for cake!
Nom, nom , nom. Not a bad day!
Trying out his helmet.
I painted this picture for a Relief Society activity and gave it to Blade to hang in his room. He loves cars, trucks, and trains!
Things about Blade at age 2:
26 lbs (40th percentile)
35 inches (65th percentile)
Size 24 month shirts and 18 month pants
Size 5 in shoes and diapers
He takes 1 2-3 hour nap after lunch every day and sleeps around 11 hours at night. He has a great sense of humor and just laughs and laughs at things he find funny. He has an insatiable appetite for books and loves being read to. He doesn't quite run but has a very effective speed walk.
He rarely listens when you tell him no, but he can also be very sweet. He loves to scream at the dinner table which drives us all crazy. He holds his own with his sisters and doesn't let them boss him around. He likes to be outside but not when it's cold. He never holds still very long. He has a good appetite and eats all kinds of foods. He was totally into nursery and friends before we had to pause all of that. He LOVES to yell "bye" every morning when Lance and the girls leave- he's been missing that lately.
He is turning into a great talker and it seems like he has new words everyday. He will try to repeat almost anything you tell him to, and he has started to string together 2-3 words at a time.
He has started calling Lance and I "Dad-DEE" and "Mom-MEE" and it's like my favorite thing ever. We're so happy to have this little guy around. Happy birthday, little man!
