We've been busy fitting in some last moments of warm weather fun! We managed to make it to the last week of "Zoorasic Park" at Hogle Zoo, and the girls really liked seeing seeing the realistic dinosaurs! Except the ones that moved or made noise or shot water. They did not like those.
Daryn insisted on toting around her copy of "Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?" and it was actually pretty cute because they kept finding the right (or close enough) animal in the book and holding it up throughout the zoo.
Lion face and ice cream face!
Elephants- an absolute favorite.
Although Daryn really liked this weird kangaroo thing and chased it back and forth.
Best dad ever. He's so cute!
Somehow the carousel always ends up being the best thing of anywhere we go. I guess I can't blame them! Daryn was thrilled to ride a polar bear, just like her book.
Anyway, we wrapped up a fun Friday afternoon at the zoo and went home to rest before a busy weekend. Most important stop the next day?
The pumpkin patch! We love to go to the free hay ride/pumpkin patch at the nursery by our house, but we waited until the last day so there was a long line. No worries- there was plenty to keep the girls busy while Lance waited in line!
Fishing for prizes.
Reagan got these glasses and I think they are sooo funny!
And of course, face painting. Reagan chose a very dainty fairy.
And Daryn sat so still for her first time. Candy corns!
Family selfie on the hay ride.
Daryn's very own!
We made the girls pick small ones, because we had all these (and a couple more still in the garden) at home that we grew!
We were there more for the experience :).
Next up: Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving Point! A tradition. Although this year, we were this close to cutting it when it took three (3!) hours to get there because of traffic (should have been 1). We are all a little grumpy and it was already getting chilly by the time we got there. But we made the best of it and ended up having a fantastic (if a little cold) time!
Princess carriage.
Giant legos. These girls love to build.
Finished product!
The jumping pillow!
Daryn could not get up and was so distressed. I felt awful because I wasn't really allowed on with the little kids.
Until big sister came to the rescue! Such a sweet moment.
Jumping together at last.
Tire swings.
Other things.
Cow train ride!
Not pictured: the giant slide which is our favorite part of all. Too busy sliding to take pictures! Also the corn maze. Because dark.
The girls were mesmerized by the animated farm animals telling jokes.
Showing off their muscles!
Giant tractor.
And a fireworks show to end the night- right as we were leaving! If we had gotten there when we intended, we would have left earlier and missed it. It's the little things :).
