New Years in New Mexico

After a long drive, more hazardous snowy roads, and another vomiting incident (this time by Reagan, just moments away from our destination), we finally made it to Lance's parents' house. We went straight to bed and woke up feeling refreshed, although Reagan had a lovely cold which we all passed around. Naturally. Nevertheless, it was time to play, and play hard! Cousins are the best!

I really love this picture of Reagan perched on the couch like a vulture.
Eventually we did get dressed, and it was time for Christmas #2! Just had to hunt down the children first. Apparently playing was more enticing than opening presents.

Until they got started, that is!

Baby's first Christmas present (a Little Giraffe blanket. The very best).

A doctors kit! A favorite for sure.

Cutest snuggle buddies ever.

This girl loves train tracks so much.

Daryn's reaction to Uncle Shay's magic tricks. She was enthralled!

The next day was New Year's Eve, so se got all fancied up for a night in of playing games and drinking Wassal.
 Much focus and determination.

We let the kids stay up till 10 so they could count down to the New Year with their poppers.

About 3 minutes before midnight we took this picture. If you're wondering why Daryn looks so grumpy, it's because 45 seconds later, she threw up everywhere. Yup.
We were hoping it was just another fluke, but she spent the rest of the night getting sick every half hour or so. It was a very long night for all of us. 12 hours later, she was finally done and slept hard until 3 pm and was basically better after that. Some times it's just hard to catch a break :).

Anyway, we made it into 2016! Reagan had been dying to play in the snow, so Uncle Shay and Aunt Britta took the kids sledding for a couple hours.

 Attack!

And apparently that wasn't enough to wear her out, because she wanted back in the snow as soon as she had something to eat! She was a little disappointed that it was way too dry to build a snowman, until she discovered that it was frozen hard enough that she could crawl and lay on it without making prints.

Meanwhile, Lance and Meagan got to go skiing! Lance's first time since we met- he's really missed it!

So glad they went and had a blast. Now I want to learn!

New Year's Day is also Lance's grandma's birthday, so of course we had to have a party! The girls got to wear their new outfits they got from Gigi.

Reagan made this awesome card; I was so proud of her.

Mimi and some of her grandkids!

We stayed for one more day in NM, and did basically nothing. It was pretty nice. Then we got up early to drive home on Sunday. Luckily, the drive home was uneventful, but we've vowed to never ever leave our house again. It's a miracle we all survived this trip! Better not to risk it again.
