A grown-up Valentines

For Christmas, Lance got me the best present ever: a Valentine's weekend away in Midway! He planned everything and arranged for his mom to fly out and babysit so we could have a couple days away. I was looking forward to this for a month and a half! We left Thursday afternoon and checked into the Homestead Resort. Right away we had a soak in the natural crater. It was so cool! Super warm and misty and you just floated around (heaven for me).
Afterwards was dinner and then a sleigh ride around the property. It was a beautiful cold clear evening and the stars were gorgeous!

Friday morning Lance had booked a pregnancy massage and pedicure for me. Again, heaven. I'm the luckiest!
Afterwards we had lunch and walked/shopped our way around Midway. Such a cute town with Swiss heritage! The town hall had a clock that put on a little show every hour.
When I was tired of walking, we went back to go swimming and hot tubbing in the resort's pool.

Then it was time to get all cleaned up for a nice dinner a Z Chop Haus!
Except sad story: apparently on Valentine's weekend, they only serve a seafood buffet (instead of steak). We did not know this until we were seated. Pregnant me was not prepared for this. I hate seafood. I may or may not have started crying in the restaurant. (Just tearing up. Not bawling. But still.)
Lance wanted to leave, but I insisted we stay and that he eat enough seafood for both of us. An expensive mistake! But the desserts were pretty good, and included in the buffet.

Saturday morning we slept in late, had a yummy breakfast in town, and then it was time to check out and head home! We couldn't leave without pictures with the weird frog we walked past 100 times.
Also they had this cool ice sculpture on the property.
Honestly one of the very best parts of the weekend was the crisp clean mountain air. We were in the middle of a terrible inversion, and the air at home was so disgusting we did not even want to go outside. Driving back into Salt Lake was like this:
Luckily it snowed and rained and cleared up the next day.

Meanwhile, the girls had the best time ever at home with Gigi and Aunt Meagan.
We missed their sweet faces so much!!
Meagan even took Reagan to a birthday party for a school friend and she had a blast!

We were so happy to get home and give these girls kisses, but we enjoyed our much-needed get away so much!
