Blade's Blessing

 What a handsome dude!

Blade was blessed this morning at church by Lance at just under 2 weeks old. A little early but we wanted to do it while family was in town. He was so sweet and didn't fuss a single bit, even though I forgot to bring a pacifier.

He wore an outfit and shoes that were Lance's when he was a baby. We have a lot of those treasure thanks to Lance's mom. So sweet! (Bowtie and socks added by me).

Lance gave a wonderful blessing. Some special things that stood out to me were a healthy disposition (spiritually, physically, and emotionally), and desires to search out truth, be like Jesus Christ, partake in the ordinances of the gospel, and serve a mission. He was blessed with discernment in his companions and that he would marry in the temple and his family would be a great blessing to him. He was blessed to be an example to his sisters and parents and to be a light in our family and a sweet spirit. I can already see that in him!

We were lucky to have family members come to the blessing, especially both grandmas and Stuart's family who drove up for it.
We welcomed Grandma Larsen yesterday and had to say goodbye to Gigi today. She was such a huge help to us over the past 2 weeks- we couldn't have done it without her!

Other things from the past week:

Blade met Grace.

The girls are a little obsessed with Crazy 8's.

We celebrated the first day of spring with free ice cream cones from Dairy Queen.

And I took all the kids on Blade's first walk around the neighborhood. A good way to get out some energy.

I never get tired of that sweet face (especially when he's sleeping!)

Blade had his first semi-bath last night in preparation for his blessing. (His cord hasn't fallen off yet but we figured it was the best way to wash his greasy hair).

We're ready for a fun with with Grandma- my birthday, Easter, and General Conference!
