Blade turned 11 months on Feb 12. He has seen some big changes this month. Most importantly, he finally put on some weight! He was sitting at about 18.5 lbs on his 11 month mark (up a pound in one week) and is just over 19 now (20th percentile). He also shot up a few inches and finally outgrew some clothes. He's now 30 inches (60th percentile). He wears mostly 9 month with some 12 month clothing. His head had remained literally the exact same size (down to the millimeter) for months, which made the helmet process super frustrating, but it finally had a growth spurt too and his head looks noticeably better. 4 more weeks and then we will be done! He finally started eating table food with a vengeance and also agreed to take a bottle at long last- which means we started weaning this week. He crawls at full speed and pulls up to stand on everything. He attempted the stairs and made it up a couple steps before falling and now there is baby gate up. He had one top front tooth pop through just before 11 mo and the second one followed shortly after. He mimics sounds and Lance taught him to say "turtle" during his nightly bath- his first official word?? Honestly he is completely different baby than he was 3 weeks ago. It's like a light flipped and all my worries that I would stress about at night are gone. He has progressed by leaps in every area. He eats anything he can get his hands on, non-stop. Almost the only thing that has stayed the same is his happy demeanor- he just lights up the drop of hat, just like always. And the only negative is he seems a lot less interested in sleep than he used to- naps are a lot shorter. He FINALLY has almost stopped spitting up- down to once or twice a day. He loves his sisters and nightly bathtime super much. He is starting to get into everything. He is very wiggly and doesn't like to be held for long. He has a fair amount of separation anxiety and doesn't like strangers unless I am close; however he loves interacting with them from the safety of my lap.
I just love this perfect little babe so much, here are a gazillion pictures of him.
When he was sick back in January, he couldn't wear his helmet and just wanted to sleep non-stop. Poor guy.
But he's been healthy since then! (Besides a little runny nose right now.)
How did I get so lucky?!
Besties.
I can't even tell you how much he loves baths. His favorite is pulling the (broken) plug non-stop and draining the tub.
He knows its almost time to get in!
This happy little bugger is just the BEST. BABY. And his birthday is 2 weeks from tonight. Make it stop!!
