Some big changes this year! Reagan and Daryn both tested in the gifted program in Davis School District, PAL (I blame Lance), so after much deliberation we decided to move them from the charter school we attended to Kaysville Elementary.
We made it in to register on the last day possible.
So far we've had our bumps, but we've been loving the school. They have been super great about helping with Daryn's needs and gone above and beyond with accommodations. Unfortunately, Daryn has been sick 3 separate times since school started and has missed over 1/3 of the days so far.
But let's back up. We can't start school until we're ready! First thing: dentist check-ups.
Maddie actually climbed on the bench and let the dentist examine her, which was a first. We're still going strong with no cavities for anyone!
And haircuts! I made appointments for the girls at Cookie Cutters but was sooo sick that day (spoiler alert: norovirus) so Lance took them all. Before:
During...
Maddie's first haircut!
And after!
Ha ok apparently I only have Daryn. Way to go Lance, on telling them exactly what I wanted.
Back to School Night the night before. Daryn was sick, so Reagan took a picture with her teacher to send her.
All ready for 3rd grade!
Unfortunately, on the first day, Daryn was at Primary Children's with Lance with a bad case of norovirus. With super high fevers we were worried it was a UTI.
Two days later, she got her first day of 1st grade!
Look at these girls running out on their first day together. They love school!
And even more excitingly, within the first two weeks of school we had 3 lost teeth!
Reagan lost another one on top, giving her a triple gap (and no sign of her front teeth growing in yet...)
And Daryn lost her first tooth over Labor Day weekend while Lance was gone...
...followed shortly by her second! Lance came home just in time to pull it.
The tooth fairy has been busy here!
Daryn also got a library card and these girls have been reading up a storm.
Maddie has been anxiously awaiting her first day of preschool this past week. In preparation, she learned to write her name. She did it for the first time at church. It's improved quite a bit since then.
At Meet the Teacher.
She's all set!
She ran right in and had a great day. We love this sweet girl!
Can't wait to see how our smarty-pantses will grow this year!
