Summertime

Wow this summer has been so busy! We've been in a whirlwind of fun. Here are a few things we have been up to the past month and a half.

Up to our ears in baby snuggles. So much loves!

Madelyn's first swinging!

Conking out when she can. Poor girl misses her nap more often than not. She handles it pretty well.

Beauty by the apple tree!

Lots of gardening and enjoying the fruits of our labors. YUM!

Summer Olympics at the library. Learning Tae kwon do!

Hiking! We hiked up to a waterfall in Ogden with the girls' gymnastics. It was really hard and I almost died. Not really but yes it was.

The girls loved scrambling around at the top, even though it was chilly and there was no good place to sit.

Very pretty hike! Not sure I would do it again with little kids. Reagan had a hard time. Lance actaully carried her in his arms as well as Daryn on his back at one point. 

Also hikes to our favorite waterfall. Much easier.

Lance even caught a butterfly very carefully for the girls to look at!

Tiny hikers. Daryn's first real time hiking out of the carrier! She made it all the way down on her own.

The park, of course. Lance loves to take them kite-flying!

Right before we left for NM, Jamie and the kids came to visit for a couple days and of course we went with them, too. So fun to play with them for a little while!

We also went to the splash pad with them and Daryn was adamant that she did not want to get wet, so I didn't put her swim suit on. I should have known.

Mall train ride.

Museum visits with Christy and her baby! We got the Salt Lake connect pass and are having a great time visiting different places. 

Discovery Gateway.

Natural History Museum of Utah. We had never bene there before!

They seriously adore her.

Carnivals! We actually visited the same one twice, once at Syracuse Days and then a couple days later it was set up at our mall so we stopped by with some friends. Ridiculously overpriced, of course, but fun because it was almost deserted. Often our kids were the only one on the ride!

Glitter tattoos! Same price as face painting but way better because they lasted a week, even through baths! Reagan got Iron Man, even though she had no idea who he was.

Ok so we love these giant slide things and ride them whenever we have the chance. The first time, Lance took the girls, and the second day, I did. I had Daryn on my lap and Reagan next to me. We were flying down, (racing, of course), when all the sudden, WHAM! Reagan face planted at full speed near the bottom. I jumped up next to her and helped her up, but it took a second to figure out what happened. On the side of the slide there with big metal pieces sticking out that held it together. Reagan's sack that she was riding snagged on one, and she kept on holding tight, just like I told her. So straight down the front of her went :(.

 

She seemed pretty banged up and was crying hard, until she calmed down a little and said through her  tears, "At least I won!". Oh my. It was so funny. Poor girl wound up with a nice shiner; her first black eye. If I know her, it won't be her last.

Winter in July? Apparently summer toys just weren't cutting it.

Reagan was inspired by the sidewalk chalk art festival we went to a couple months ago and decided she wanted to do her own. You can't see it very well in the photo, but she actually colored in a pretty good picture in the whole square. 

Meeting up with Lance's parents and Uncle Bruce and Aunt Becky at City Creek for dinner.

Trampoline park as last fun thing with the Vickreys before they move. They wanted to do the rock climbing more than the jumping! We should have got a picture with all the kids together...

Last minute surprise birthday party for Marissa!

We have had such a fun summer, and we plan to fit as much fun in as we can before Reagan starts kindergarten in less than 4 weeks. Can't stop won't stop!
