An exciting day! Balloons in the crib for the birthday girl!
She was a big fan.
It was a quiet day, just a doctor's appointment in the morning, until the afternoon rolled around and Gigi and Granddad arrived to party.
We had lots of fun set up in the back yard. It was actually a beautiful warm day and one of Maddie's first times to just play in the yard.
She took full advantage!
We all (except Maddie) wore these unicorn party hats that Grace sent because she couldn't be there. They were so fun!
We opened presents before dinner because there were some fun toys that needed to make an appearance!
With some help from her sisters, she opened some new bath toys, among other things.
Then it was time for the good stuff! A cozy coupe and a big roller coaster ride on toy! (Both of which were extremely frustrating for me. Despite ordering them weeks in advance, both had delivery problems- one lost and one wrong item- and we had to expend a lot of effort to find them in person the week of her birthday. Worth it though.)
She loves this car so much. She climbs in it and pushes it from behind all the time.
Our friends came over with Maddie's little buddy for dinner- Lance grilled up some really delicious burgers. Then it was time for cake! Strawberry lemon cream cake with lemon whipped cream/cream cheese icing.
She was a little unsure about this flame...
Then decided she would dip right in.
After we cut her a piece, it took a minute, but eventually she got the hang of it.
I didn't take any pictures of her on the roller coaster until the next morning. But she loves it almost as much as her sisters do.
So fun to celebrate this sweet girl! It was the perfect party for our little lady.
