A whole year already! I thought I would never make it... Madelyn has definitely been our hardest baby- she doesn't see to have quite the near-constant sweet disposition that her sisters did at this age. But her funniness and adorable pudges make up for it.
A few pictures from the past month.
Dresses down and dolled up.
A new kind of fun for her- the water table!
You can't tell in this picture, but she loves that bear so much. Won't sleep without it (as we found out the hard way when we left her in Lance's parents' care and forgot to tell them about it a few weeks ago)
Such a good laundry helper!
That cheesy grin kills me!
Her new bff.
So many fun things about Madelyn at this age. She took her first independent steps her birthday week! About time, since for weeks she has just been standing for minutes at a time. She is now up to 7 steps. She loves her walkers and goes so fast with them. She seriously acts like a dog half the time. Panting when she gets excited, biting, growling, but the cutest is when she crawls around with something (a toy, a bottle or sippy) in her mouth. It's freaking adorable. She also likes to hold one or both of our phones up to her ears and say "Dad!". She is very difficult to restrains in strollers or high chairs which makes eating and leaving the house an adventure. She says Mama and Dada a lot and All Done occasionally. She loves her whole milk these days and is really into bread and meat and fruit. Veggies are hit and miss. She loves to dance and play with her sisters and most of them time lets them basically drag her around. She loves swinging and bouncing on the trampoline in the backyard. She puts everything in her mouth but eats SO MANY crayons. And chalk. I don't get it. She loves going up the stairs and is starting to try to climb on everything. She just started climbing on our spinning zebra thing and the little rocking chair and loves playing on them. She hates diaper changes, so much, and they are often a huge ordeal. She likes being read to, mostly by her daddy. She is a decent sleeper but still cries often at night. She wears mostly 18 month clothes, size 2 shoes, and size 4 diapers. At her doctors appointment on her birthday she was 22 lbs (86%) and 31 inches (97%)- still our big girl! She cried for a minute with her shots but was quite pleased with her first lollipop she got right after.
Her Aunt Genevieve took some adorable pictures the day after her birthday. Love this little cutie so much!

PERFECTION!!!!
