Daryn turns 6

I can't believe it. Daryn seems perpetually 5 in my mind. Guess I better get used to it!

She got this awesome shiner on her eye just in time for her birthday. Apparently she hit her face on the dresser next to her bed while she was sleeping?

No problem, doesn't make her any less gorgeous!!

She was thrilled to find a new scooter waiting for her in her favorite colors on her birthday morning. 

Her birthday was on the last day of school, so double celebration! 

Lance brought her flowers and a balloon that's almost as big as her. 

She thought this tiny piñata was pretty cool.

The next day, we threw Daryn a huge birthday bash at gymnastics. She invited everyone from her school, primary, dance, and gymnastics class- around 45 kids. We figured since it was a holiday weekend, less than half would come, and we were right. I think there were around 20 kids, counting ours. 

Daryn loved having all her bffs there! 

Lance was awesome and played with the kids the whole time while I mostly visited with the moms that stayed. Daryn had the best time and it was the easiest party to plan. 

Some things about Daryn at age 6:

~Weighs 39 lbs and is 42.5 inches tall- 15th percentile for both. Small but staying on her curve!

~Is super sweet and silly most of the time, but gets these super sassy moments that she snaps out of pretty quickly after getting sent to her room.

~Loves Blade so much, and gets along great with Reagan and Maddie separately (they tend to fight a lot when they are all together).

~Is super social and kind, and makes friends very easily. Everywhere we go, she makes new friends and gets sad when she realizes she wont see them again. 

~Is very susceptible to other's influence- we use this to our advantage. 

~She is very bossy to other kids if she thinks they are doing the right thing.

~Will eat almost anything besides fish and doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. 

~Is a great reader but claims that she doesn't like it. She's in that awkward spot where she can read pretty well but she can't quite sit down and read a book all on her own and she gets frustrated. 

~Tested off the charts at school- she is super smart!

~ Sleeps great at night- we rarely see her anymore between 9 pm and 8 am. 

~Wears size 5 and 6 clothes (barely growing into 6) and size 9 shoes. 

~She loves to sing loudly, especially Primary songs.

~Honestly she never stops talking, and struggles with using an "inside voice."

~She is having major reconstructive bladder surgery this week and is pretty nervous but has been praying to be brave. She has the best prayers ever- they are so thoughtful.
