Dixie's 2nd birthday

The day before Dixie's birthday we threw a huge combined party for her and Blade at Truplay. We invited everyone in their nursery and Sunbeams classes, plus all of Blade's preschool friends and some neighborhood kids and siblings. It was SO fun, but a lot of work. But everyone had a blast!

We had this awesome charcuterie board made. Totally worth it- I was blown away!

The theme was Numberblocks (their favorite show) and we had the cutest cakes made.

Blade was feeling under the weather after getting shots the day before. I've never had a child react badly and it was pretty sad but he managed to pull through and have a good time.

Dixie was literally living her best life.

Finally getting a bite to eat.

Time for cake.
Purple dragon ice cream!

More play time after cake!

We had to drag her out of there kicking and screaming after like 4 hours. Maybe because she missed her nap...

At least there were presents to open at home.

Dixie got Blade's leftover 4 balloon because her giant rainbow 2 balloon blew away when we tried to get it out of the car. Oops.

Birthday girl all ready for church the next day!

Yay!

After church and nap time, it was time to party! If she can get out...

"What?! For me?!"

"I guess I can try it out."

Pretty fun!

Once you get the hang of it.

She couldn't quite get the concept of blowing out candles but smelling flowers- she kept trying to blow on them.

Time for gifts.

She loves books so much.

Safety first!

The baby doll bath toys have been a huge hit and see lots of use.

She even changes their diapers.

Her shirt says "anti-social butterfly." A perfect description. Thanks Aunt Cassidy!

And also this one. I spent a while trying her get her to do "2" with her fingers before settling for blowing a kiss.

Inspecting the front flower bed with Reagan. They were very pleased to see crocuses.

Time for cake! I was so sick of cake by this point, that we just had leftover from the day before.
Half 2 and half 4. Whatever. I was exhausted.

A pretty good day for this girl.

Wrapping things up on Monday with a drs appointment.

And then a Barnes and Nobles birthday cookie!

And first day of spring ice cream from Dairy Queen. Just a non-stop party over here.

Some things about Dixie at age 2:
- weighs 27 lbs (60th percentile) and is 33 inches tall (40th percentile)
- wears 2T clothes and size 5 shoes and diapers
- sleeps around 12 hours at night and takes 1 2-hour nap
- is very opinionated and likes to make herself heard- she will scream if she doesn't get her way
- loves to play with her siblings and thinks she is a big kid like them
- talks in phrases and complete sentences
- still barely tolerates anyone outside our immediate family and hates babysitters (although they always say she warms up after I leave)
- loves the shows Daniel Tiger Numberblocks, and Gabby's Dollhouse
- sings "We will Rock You", "Batman", "What Does the Fox Say" and "ABC's" constantly, plus a few primary songs
- sings Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star with me when I lay her down and it's my favorite thing ever
- insists on wanting either Lance or me constantly, usually which ever one isn't there at the moment
- favorite books right now are Little Blue Truck and Goodnight Train
- likes to play with the other kids little Lego pieces and is actually pretty good at putting them together
- makes messes constantly and is never interested in helping clean them up

She is the perfect animated caboose to our family and we all adore her!
