September

September was a busy, fun fun fun month. Here's just a taste!

After promising the kids a Lagoon day and waiting all summer for the right time (it was so hot and smokey!), we finally made it Labor Day weekend.

Maddie and Daryn were both tall enough for almost all the rides- finally. I took them straight to Wicked, first thing. Daryn loved it. Maddie hated it.

Lance got first turn in kiddie land. It was hit and miss for Dixie.

"Interesting. Things look different from way up here."

Lance said Dixie cried this entire ride while he watched. And it's a long one.

"You want me to do what??"
Major side eyes.

After a few big roller coasters, we found them like this.

Then we joined forces for a few family rides.

Bulgy the Whale was more Dixie's speed.

Yes we did fit our entire family of 7 in one log for the Log Flume ride. Dixie is buried in there somewhere.  Maybe on Lance's lap? Or Reagan's?

Ice cream break!

Dixie enjoyed lots of bites of everyone else's.

Carousels are a serious matter.

But not roller coasters!

At some point we hit Lagoon-A-Beach for a few hours but I didn't take any pics of that.

Maddie opted to skip the big kid rides with Lance and stayed with me and Blade and Dixie.

Last ride, always.

We closed out the park. Don't make us leave! Till next year, Lagoon.

This little goofball. She had to find ways to stay busy with the kids at school.

Blade, too. He started playing games by himself.

We took the kids to Peter Rabbit at the dollar theater but she only made it halfway. I think this was her first movie.

Time for our annual visit to the State Fair! A crazy grass fire burning a few miles from our home on the way there.

First stop is always the butter sculpture.

Little Farm!

Pony rides!

Carnival rides! Everyone got to pick a couple.

We ended the night with our favorite, then giant yellow slide. We love the State Fair!

9/11 Memorial in Kaysville. Can't believe we've never come before. The kids learned a lot.

Scooter rides!

Just Maddie being Maddie.

Many mornings I find her like this after everyone else is up. School is hard.

We bought an upright freezer and loaded it up. Biggest Sam's Club trip of my life!

Our beautiful temple.

We walked there with the youth for an activity one week.

Some other fun activities we did that month:

Chalk fight

Adam's Canyon hike.

I love being in Young Women's!

Lead by example.

Reagan's class has been busy at school.

Some days are like this. Even in Australia.

The kids got a special surprise from my cousin Jane. She is 13 and crochets these amazing custom animals.
Left to right: wolf, unicorn, ducky, dolphin, turtle. The kids love them!

Daryn's school carnival.

And Reagan's carnival a couple days later. The petting zoo and face painting were huge hits!

And then Layton's Park after Dark! Lance took the girls since it was so late.

Blade had a karate belt ceremony. The girls didn't pass their tests after taking a few months off over the summer, so just Blade and Lance went and left after his part at the beginning. I think we had something else going on but I don't remember what.

September was just beautiful. Can't wait for warmer weather again.
