After being stuck in our home for 3 months straight, we decided it was time for a trip to visit some family. A couple days after Reagan's birthday, we loaded up what felt like the entire house and drove 14 hours to Lance's parents in New Mexico.
The bike rack and car top carrier were a fun addition.
We got there late and all crashed. When I checked on Blade after we put him to bed, he was passed out like he hadn't even moved from where we laid him down. He slept so great in this dark closet. 12+ hours every night and we didn't hear a peep.
Dixie was so excited to meet her granddad! He was the only one there at first because Joy was finishing up radiation treatment for breast cancer in Houston that week.
She was a little confused to be somewhere besides her home.
But she quickly adjusted.
It was so peaceful and beautiful and we loved going on bike, scooter, and golf cart rides every day, as well as walks. Mimi's house is a mile down the street and we made many, many trips there. Blade learned how to ride the scooter like a big kid on this trip and he was determined to not be left behind.

Dixie thinks vacation is the best. "Let's stay forever, Mom!"
Finally getting to meet her Gigi. She's waited her whole life for this.

Late on Saturday, Shay and his boys got in. Cal, who is a year older than Reagan, was so great with Dixie!
The kids were excited to set up this giant connect 4 game that Gigi bought for them.
So much scootering! It was Blade's favorite activity.
On Monday Meagan and Grace arrived, and the cousins had the best time playing all week.
They built this really incredible fort behind the house.
Blade was just glad that Wilson was there for him to "love".
And Dixie was content to get lots of snuggles.
More drives and trips to Mimi's.
I'm not sure what's going on here? But Beau and Maddie (same age, but quite a size difference) were total frenemies.
Reagan and Daryn and Lance went with the rest of the family to the club for dinner to celebrate Cal's upcoming birthday. We got a pic of all the grandkids lined up on the couch first.
They had a great time and were only a little silly. Supposedly...
We loved watching the storms roll in in the afternoon.
I guess they were playing dog? Shrug.
So many yummy treats, not enough time!
Daryn had tons of interaction with the local wildlife.
A little too much, because she got bit by a snake on her finger. Of course it was while Lance and the men were gone playing golf. Joy and I were freaking out, but we determined it wasn't venomous and she ended up ok.
We took the kids fishing and on a hike, which was kind of a bust. Didn't catch any fish and the hike was a little (lot) longer and hotter than anticipated. Still had some fun! I was really worried about Dixie who we left at home.
On Thursday, Grandma and Grandpa got in! Brent and Joy were kind enough to invite my family to crash the party. Dixie was so happy to see Grandma again!
And the next day, Sharon's family arrived! Even more snuggles! Dixie wore her favorite I Heart Auntie onesie.
Joy helped all the kids decorate these fun patriotic hats. Quite an undertaking when you have 14 kids ages 10 and under.
Even my family got to visit Mimi. It's so fun!
And the kicks all enjoyed playing in the field. Kickball, maybe?
Blade and Seth were instant best friends and the cutest little buddies ever.

So happy to get baby snuggles. They will have their own soon!
Grandpa even brought his "pet" skunk with him. The girls are never quite sure...
With everyone there, it was time to celebrate!
