Dixie 7/8 months.

Dixie turned 8 months old today. I missed blogging about 7 months, and I don't remember a lot of details from a month ago. Here's a lot of cute pictures from the past two months instead.

She was so proud when she finally could sit and play on her own.

Ducky got her first sitting up bath in the ducky tub! She's now graduated to the big tub.

She's so happy when she eats.

Thrilled to be 7 months!

Blade is really into taking pictures of her lately and some aren't bad.

Seriously is this not the most precious face ever???

She's discovered rides in the cozy coupe and her siblings are happy to comply.

She loves all of her siblings sooo much. It's great.

She's always hanging with at least one of them.

I think this was on our drive to Amarillo. She was very pleased that Daryn and I were sitting next to her.

Some things about Dixie right now:

loves to eat, pretty much anything

still nurses well (4 times a day)

naps 2-3 times

sleeps 7:30-7:30

no longer uses a binky- still always sucks her 3rd and 4th fingers

loves baths

doesn't say any words but loves to make the "la-la-la" sound

still won't crawls but gets around by dragging herself by her arms and is pretty mobile that way

wears 6-9 month clothing, size 3 diapers, and size 1 shoes

loves everyone in our family obsessively, especially Lance

tolerates strangers from a distance on the rare occasion that she sees them.

is super happy and easy going

today she weighed in at 17 lbs 2 oz, 42nd percentile.

We love this sweet face so much!!! She is truly a delight.

Other fall things

 Just some random stuff from the past several months.

Best sisters and twinners!

Cascade Springs and ponds and parks from back in September.

Reagan made this apron for Grace for her birthday. She worked so hard sewing it and it turned out great!

Speaking of working hard, Daryn put in tons of effort to memorize a 3 minute except of a MLK speech for school. She won in her class and her school, and district judging is this week! Win or lose, we're so proud of her! We had to watch her school performance on Zoom (and one parent didn't mute themselves and kept interrupting her- thanks Ray- but she did let it phase her!).

And speaking of school projects, Reagan and spent lots of hours volunteering at the Discovery Garden at the Ogden Nature Center in October for her passion project (gardening).

We got it all winterized!

And she's growing beets and carrots at home.

Hopefully they won't turn out as scary as this one from our garden.

Daryn's been busy at school, planning how to save the world through nature. 

And just being adorable in general.

And Maddie is just as cute but getting more grown up every day. I snapped this pic of her cleaning her nails and for some reason it kills me.

Amarillo

 Daryn, Dixie, and I took a quick trip to Amarillo for my niece Halle's baptism- and Boyd's baby blessing! We almost backed out last minute because Dixie got her first cold (runny nose) (and I kind of wish I did...) but we still had lots of fun!

We woke up VERY early on Friday morning to get to the airport (around 4 am). The girls were champs on the flight out and we got to Denver at 8 am where my parents picked us up for the 8 hour drive.

We got into Sharon's at dinner time and we were glad to be there. After all the kids were in bed, we stayed up late watching the BYU-Boise State game, which was awesome.

I got only a few hours of sleep that night again, so by Saturday I was feeling pretty run down and Dixie wasn't doing great either. She cried all during Halle's baptism- we caught the ordinance but that's about it. At least Daryn got to watch! 

And participate in a special musical number. 

It's hard to believe these girls are only 6 months apart.

The rest of the day is a blur- I think I took a long nap? Seth and I had some good bonding time.

So did Dixie with her grandparents. 

Sunday morning was church and Boyd's baby blessing.

Boyd and Dixie are already besties.

Sharon could totally do twins. And they even move in unison!

After church we had to load up and head out right away to get us to the airport on time. 

But there's always time for pictures!

Daryn was exhausted from all the fun and conked out on the drive back.

The flight back... did not go well... and that's all I have to say about that. We were all glad to be safely back home and only a little worse for the wear.
