Yummy yummy

Marissa got the video to work! She also wrote a blog about Reagan's celebrity twin here. In other news, I forgot to mention that Reagan started laughing! Maybe we can get a video of that some time, but don't hold your breath.

We love rice cereal!

And when I say we, I mean Reagan. We gave her her first shot at (semi-)solid food today! We took a supercute video, but stupid blogger wont let me upload it. She LOVED it. Even though she wasn't very good at swallowing it, she couldn't get enough. I'm pretty sure almost none made to to her stomach, most of it drooled out of her mouth. Probably because it was pretty runny. Tomorrow I'll make it thicker. But she was quite happy to give it a shot!
Thumbs up for rice cereal!
"Give me more, Mom!"

She also wore her first hat today! Thanks Maren for making such a cute one.

Also, the other day she grabbed the mirror and was studying herself quite seriously for several minutes. Probably seeing all her flaws, like a typical woman. She doesn't even know she's perfect!

Halloween!

Since it was Reagan's first Halloween, we had to celebrate in style. Reagan dressed up as a little cow (because she loves her milk so much!) and Lance and I dressed (loosely) as farmers, the caretakers of the cow. The festivities began with our ward Trunk-or-Treat on Thursday.Although I'm not sure that Reagan really understood the concept, she did great at holding her pumpkin almost the entire time, even when it had candy in it!Even cows get tired and have to suck their thumbs sometimes. After that, Lance was worn out but Reagan was ready for a weekend of partying! On Monday she got to wear her Halloween bib. On a side note, it drives me crazy how she will never smile for pictures. She smiles almost constantly, but the instant you pull out a camera, away it goes. That evening, we had pumpkin-shaped pizza for dinner from Papa Murphys. Then went trick-or-treating! We hit the mall and then the library.Overall, a very successful holiday!

Friends Weekend

I took a lot of pictures this weekend, so I am going to split them up into two posts. My friends Maren and Mindy came to visit this weekend with their boyfriends, Shaun and Niels. They were only here for a day and a half, so we had to make every minute count! First thing Saturday morning, we carved pumpkins.
Shaun seems unaware (or unconcerned?) of the impending danger.Lance wasn't too interested with the carving, so he left most of it up to me and he focused on the pumpkin seeds. Delicious!Niels's'sss first time carving a pumpkin ever. (He is from the Netherlands. Which, incidentally, is the same country as Holland. I did not know that.) He did great!Lance tried to take credit for my pumpkin. In his defense, he did help me with the lid. Later on....
After pumpkins, we headed up to the Thanksgiving Point festivities. Reagan wore her cow costume, because she had to get as much use out of it as possible. I saw this sign and it made me wonder. So I asked my little cow, and it turns out she only has one stomach, but she does spend a significant amount of time each day eating and chewing, as demonstrated below. Her first slide!Corn maze! It's me and Reagan in goat form! (plus another baby...?) You can't really see them well in this picture, but I had no idea baby goats are one of the cutest animals ever.
After an afternoon there, we came home, had dinner, left Reagan with babysitters and headed back up. As much as I love Reagan, it's nice to have an evening away from her occasionally. We were able to do the haunted stuff and it was super fun! The 4 of them left early the next morning, but we had a great time while they were here! It made our Halloween extra-special.
