End of school

We made it through the May craziness. But barely. 

I took the girls to Grace's dance recital and out to dinner with the Brunsons. It's amazing how much easier it is without the littles.

We finished up softball for all 3 girls. Reagan had one of the best (and only!) hits of the season.

I was also super proud of her because she signed up to play every position. Her coaches were so impressed by her willingness to try everything. 

She struggled with pitching and catching. 

Daryn, on the other hand, loved playing catcher.

Blade was the cutest little fan and never got tired of cheering his sisters on. Can't wait for him to play next year! Dixie was a little less enthusiastic. 

Reagan had the culmination of her passion project that she'd been working on all year, growing beets and carrots. 

She made carrot cake (her own vegan, fat free recipe) and beet chocolate cake!

They were both really yummy but I don't think we finished either. It was a lot of cake. And a lot of hard work.

Daryn had her end of school play, Character Matters, and she was thrilled to be the wolf. She lobbied hard for the part and really put everything into her role. She nailed her humorous lines.

 

We all enjoyed the show.

Reagan was very busy with robotics. Her team tied for first at State and qualified for Worlds, which meant ever more practice competitions and extra practices. 

The last week of school she had to be at school at 5:30 for Worlds, which was done virtually this year. It was a long week but her team ended up being 6th/7th in the world! Pretty cool. 

I got to come into Daryn's class and help them make homemade ice cream. Lots of shaking. 

I also got to help with her field day. 

The last day of school, she had a popsicle party to meet her new PAL teacher for next year. And there were baby chicks!

Reagan had mixed feelings about the last day. She had a great year.

And Maddie was heartbroken to leave Miss Evie but so proud to be done with preschool and more than ready for Kindergarten!

Meanwhile Blade was ready for the girls to come back home and take over reading to Dixie. It's a hard job but somebody's got to do it!

At some point, I don't even remember when it was, I got up early to catch a lunar eclipse. The girls wanted me to wake them up but I did not. It's for the best. Bring on summer!
