Our last first birthday! Unfortunately most of us had had colds that week and were still feeling under the weather, so we kept it more low-key. Dixie was in top form though! Starting off right with homemade strawberry waffles for breakfast.
Everyone got in the festive mood, before they were even dressed.

Present time! Her big present from us didn't come on time (it's actually supposed to finally come this week) but luckily she had a few smaller ones, mostly from extended family.
Edit: it came! The nugget furniture is a big hit with everyone.

Some things about Dixie at 1 year:
~weighs 19 lbs 13 oz (50th percentile) and 28 inches (12th percentile)- although I think that measurement might be a little short
~not walking independently yet- but stands unassisted
~says a few words, but mostly Dad and shrieks
~waves bye bye and loves peek-a-boo
~wears size 12 months clothes and size 1 shoes
~crawls up the stairs any time you leave her alone for a second
~likes her playpen and bouncer, thankfully
~hates her high chair
~loves going on walks and doesn't mind being in the stroller for extended periods

The best of times and the worst of times- just about sums up her life! Hopefully more of the former...
