Family adventures

 Earlier this year, we decided that we needed to spend more time together with our whole family, and get out and visit some fun places. Good ol' fashioned family fun, if you will. So Lance started leaving work early on Friday afternoons (no small sacrifice) and we have been on some fun adventures! Here is a sampling from the past few months:

Natural History Museum of Utah. Really one of our first times out as a family of 7. The kids were so happy to be out in the world.

Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. We had free passes, and it had come kind of weird stuff. But the kids liked watching this animated video.

And I found this cool 3D creating that I loved.

Ogden Nature Center! A favorite.

We saw lots of deer and birds.

Dinosaur Park in Ogden. Another favorite that we haven't been to in a few years.

Twinsies! 

Dixie's got to slide her first slide at the playground there.

We had lots of fun and stayed until closing.

Golden Spike/Promontory Point. 

Reagan has been learning Utah history this year and knows all about this (and has taught all the other kids songs about it) so it was fun to see where the railroads connected.

Later at the Ogden Train Museum, the girls found the original safe that the original Golden Spike was stored in.

After Promontory Point, we drove out to the Spiral Jetty. We had never been to either of these places but it was pretty cool.We ended up taking an unplanned walk all the way out to the Great Salt Lake, which the kids have never really experienced either. 

They loved it!

Even Dixie was intrigued.

Oh well. This was the closest I got.

Another Friday we went to Red Butte Gardens to take Daryn's baptism pictures (more on that in a later post). It was a lovely afternoon.

We've also spent more than a few Friday afternoons at our favorite local parks, when some of us weren't feeling our best (vaccines/colds that keep coming back for the younger 2). The park is our best place!

Reagan was having a hard time this day and just walked to the other side of the park to be alone. She looked so pathetic walking away.

We also love to drive by the Layton temple together and see the amazing progress!

We have really just been loving this spring, even with all the craziness that is life.
