Kid's accomplishments

The kids have been up to some amazing things over the past few months. I can't keep up with them! Reagan has been super busy with robotics. Her team took first at their last regular competition, which got them an invitation to State. At State (the 2nd week of April), they tied for first and lost the tiebreaker, ending up in 2nd place overall- good enough for an invite to Worlds! Worlds is in May and is virtual this year, so each team was required to participate in 2 virtual competitions by the end of April to make sure they were prepared. Extra practices and 8 hour competitions on Saturdays has been a lot. Their team, Blue Hippos, totally bombed the first virtual competition and came in dead last I think. But the second one, they rallied and came in first- and Reagan had a crucial driving park that helped them get their highest score of the day! We were so proud watching the live stream. She was on cloud 9. Especially when their coach bought them live goldfish as a reward.

I was able to go to the one where they qualified for state. So fun! And pretty stressful.

Winners!

Reagan and her fish.

Maddie helped Blade ride her bike while we were on a walk.

The kids had karate pictures and Blade was included because he got to start a couple weeks later!

One afternoon the girls made chocolate cupcakes all on their own. They were delicious but they tried to dye the chocolate frosting green and got a nice poo color.

Chalk pictures

Daryn is very into photography these days.

Primary singing time Zoom.

Maddie loves to make Lego creations and hates when we have to put them away.

And she's super into drawing these days. She followed instructions in the Friend magazine to draw this horse.

Reagan and Daryn passed their belt tests (Maddie was too young to test) and we are big fans of the drive-up belt ceremony.

The rock picture fascination continues and all of the kids have made some pretty neat ones.

Karaoke performances and sleep-downs in the basement are becoming a semi-regular thing.

Dixie discovered sunglasses and Daryn documented it.

"Like this?"

First day of karate class! I had to hem his uniform up about 6 inches. He's so adorable! He can't decide if he loves it or not yet but he tries really hard.

We like to hang out and eat lunch while we watch his class. And Dixie sorts my purse. So helpful.

Believe it or not, there are children in both of these pictures. Reagan and Blade are excellent hiders.

And Daryn and Maddie put on a "fashion show" which was really more of a dance recital.

Dixie is musically inclined already!

And getting better at climbing...

Maddie made these awesome wings at school.

When the girls are home alone watching tv. Apparently gotta stick together for safety.

Reagan had her first (and last) track meet through the city. The season overlapped with softball so she could only do the first half. She had fun, but was also disappointed that she didn't win.
We were proud of her for doing the softball throw, 50 meter and 100 meter dash. And we found out that track meets are not our favorite thing. The kids were very antsy waiting.

Daryn graduated to a big kid bike! Lance fixed Reagan's old one and she is loving the gears.

And Maddie learned how to ride her bike without training wheels! It took several weeks, lots of confidence boosts, and practice on her new 2 wheel scooter but she's well on her way.

Blade is so excited to start reading, he insisted on carrying his heavy bag of books home from a friend's house by himself. It's been a week and his enthusiasm hasn't waned yet.

We're so proud of these kids and all the great things they do! They are incredible!
